Ministry of National Education Launches "National Memory" Operation in Curriculum: Aegean and Central Asian Names Become History!
Maps and Terminology Are Being Redrawn
The most striking change in the new model occurred in geography and history lessons. Schools will now use the term "Turkestan" instead of "Central Asia," and "Aegean Sea" instead of "Aegean Sea," reflecting its historical origins. National defense will be addressed not only through land borders but also as a whole, encompassing the concepts of Blue Homeland, Sky Homeland, and Green Homeland. Curriculum Barrier Against Alleged Claims
In history textbooks, the term "Byzantium" has been replaced with "Eastern Roman Empire," and to prevent externally sourced disinformation, terms like "Armenian Question" have been updated to "Unfounded Armenian Claims." Furthermore, key points of our "heartland geography," such as Gaza, East Turkestan, and Khojaly, have been included in the curriculum, aiming to instill national consciousness in students.
